Change

Change is good – very good … and there is much for us all to explore – in dance and in the rest of our lives.  Change is coming … and we are delighted.  Thanks for being with us on the journey.

Seven Deadlies

7-deadlies-devil

Mischievous Djinn presents … a delightfully devilish damned show!  Bryant Lake Bowl Theater – on 7/7/09 at 7pm for 7 bucks (we’re cheaper than a movie!).  Seven deadly sins in the hands of 7 local artists.  God only knows what might happen.

Some material may be fabulous and yet utterly inappropriate for minors and persons of delicate sensibilities.  Discretion is advised.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the BLBT website (a nominal fee applies) and also fee-free in person or reserved via phone at 612-825-8949.

See you soon, Sinner.

Spring Soiree

Mischievous Djinn will be performing in the Sisters of the Sahara Spring Soiree show:

  • Sunday, May 17th, 2009
  • 6-8pm
  • The Croation Hall (445 2nd Ave S, South St Paul)

We’re delighted to be a part of such a fantastic show with tremendous local performers!  See you at the Hall!

Global Gal

Ms Zuza will be appearing this weekend at “The Spirits of Dance: a Globalization Celebration” put on by those Wisconsin dance dynamos, Tribal Spirits of the Sun.

For more information, click on out to the website and get your international groove on!

Guild Show

Minnesota’s Guild of Oriental Dance is putting on 4 nights of extraordinary performances by local groups and soloists these last 2 weekends of April.  While Mischievous Djinn will not be performing, both Lesley and Zuza will be there to wow the crowd!

The roster for each evening’s entertainment is out at the Guild website.  Come and cheer your favorite performers on, get a heads up on new talent, and treat yourself to some remarkable dance!

Ladies and Gentlemen …

Mischievous Djinn is part of an all-star dance tribute to the Greatest Show on Earth in ‘Mythological Circus’ – put on by the lovely ladies of Mythology Dance.

Please join us on Friday evening, April 17th, at Patrick’s Cabaret.  Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm show.  Tickets are $7 at the venue.

Get Your Vernal Stuff On!

It’s a pleasure to join with the good folks of Lake Harrient Spiritual Community at their Vernal Equinox celebration – Saturday evening, 3/21.  We are dancing the parts of the elements – which is a moving and delightful thing.  The music is being provided by none other than the amazing Undercrypt, recording artist Kari Tauring, renowned local songbird Dayna Jean Wolter, and a host of unstoppable drum jammers.

Our sincere thanks to Cassandra Shore for her referral.

We hope to see you there.  WELCOME SPRING!

Rockin’ Fundraiser

Huge kudos to the gals at Bohemian Underground Workshop – who put on a stellar fundraising show to benefit the National Fibromyalgia Association.  The place was packed, the acts were terrific, Asharah kicked serious booty as the guest performing (following a grueling 3-hour workshop earlier in the day) … and much good karma was earned.  Mischievous Djinn was thrilled to be a part of it!  Congrats!

Some Patience

Sincere thanks to everyone who’s written to ask about the next ‘Djinn HARDCORE’ show!  We’re working on it – but our first challenge has been finding a venue for our best ranges of dates.  It’s frustrating, but we’re looking on the bright side:  we might actually manage to have the next one NOT on a holiday weekend and NOT in the freezing cold or broiling heat!  *grin*

Our second challenge is a rapidly-becoming-daunting performance calendar that includes Augusta in June and possibly France in July.  Add these amazing opportunities to our existing stuff then top it off with our delight and unwillingness to ever turn down an invitation, and you have got some fantastic, horrific calendar issues.

So … thank you again for your support and eagerness.  Please know that we are dedicated to the Hardcore shows and are looking forward to the next one with relish-a-go-go!
